AlohaD Privacy Policy (Beta)
Last updated: September 7, 2026
AlohaD (the "Service") is designed around one principle: your journal is a sanctuary no one else can see. This policy explains what we collect and how it is handled.
1. Information We Collect
- Account: email address, nickname (we do not collect your real name)
- Date of birth: we ask for this to verify your age (the Service is only for people aged 13 and over). We also use it to tailor suggestions to you (including AI responses) and to wish you a happy birthday. It cannot be changed once set.
- Profile (optional): gender. You can use the Service without answering.
- Content you enter: dreams, goals, check-ins, journal entries, everyday tasks (to-dos), AI mentor conversations
- Connections with other people: who you follow and who follows you, the cheers and "I can help" you gave, who you blocked, the reports you sent, and the messages you exchanged with other people
- Usage: events such as app opens, screen views, and feature usage counts (the text of your journal or messages is never sent to analytics)
- Diagnostics: error reports when the app crashes, your device model, and OS version (no content text is sent)
2. How We Use It
To provide the Service, generate AI responses, improve quality, prevent abuse, and send important notices. Your date of birth is used to verify your age, to handle your account appropriately for that age, to tailor suggestions to you (including AI responses), and to wish you a happy birthday. If you provide your gender, we use it solely to tailor suggestions to you. None of these are used for advertising.
3. Service Providers (Data Processors)
- Supabase: data storage and authentication (US region)
- Anthropic: AI response generation (its commercial API does not use your inputs to train models)
- PostHog: usage analytics (US; no content text is sent)
- Sentry: crash reporting and monitoring (US; no content text is sent)
- Google (Gmail): delivery of login codes
We do not sell your personal data.
4. What Other People Can See
The Service lets you connect with other people and share dreams.
Visible to others: your nickname, @username, profile photo, bio, follower and following counts, the titles of dreams whose visibility you chose to share, and the cheers and "I can help" you gave to someone else's dream.
Never visible, under any setting: your goals, daily check-ins, journal entries, everyday tasks (to-dos), AI mentor conversations, date of birth, email address, and gender.
Each dream's visibility is set individually to "Only me", "Mutual follows only", or "Everyone". The default is "Only me" — nothing is shared unless you choose to share it. You can change it at any time, but what others already saw while it was shared cannot be taken back.
Turning off "Allow others to find me" removes you from @username search results (people who have your QR code or link can still reach you).
When you use "Share outside AlohaD", a page is created that anyone with the link can open. It shows the dream, your nickname, @username, profile photo, and the number of cheers. These pages are set not to be indexed by search engines. You can withdraw a page at any time, and it also stops being shown if you delete the dream or change its visibility. However, text or images already posted to a social network cannot be taken back.
Messages are readable only by the two people in the conversation. Only where a message is reported does the Operator review its content, and only as far as is needed to decide what to do (conversations that have not been reported are never read by the Operator). People under 18 can exchange messages only with people they mutually follow.
Reports are reviewed only by the Operator and the person reported is not told. Blocking is not disclosed either.
5. Retention & Deletion
Data is kept while your account exists. Using "Delete account" in the app immediately and permanently erases all of your data from the cloud (unrecoverable).
6. Your Rights
You can view, correct, and delete your data directly in the app. Data export is planned.
7. Security
All communication is encrypted. Row-level access controls ensure that no one but you — including the Operator — can read your records under database policy (only dreams whose visibility you chose are shown to others, as described in Section 4). An optional biometric app lock is available.
8. Age
The Service is not directed to anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have received such information, we will delete it promptly. If the laws of your country or region set a higher minimum age, the Service is not directed to anyone below that age.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
9. Changes
Material changes will be announced in the app.
